Discovering Tallinn
Emili (my exchange student), Gabi and I took the 10 o'clock bus and after 2 and a half hours, we arrived in Tallinn. Our first destination was the Rahvapark, which was a bit bare due to the cold weather, but we took a nice walk. Next, we went to the Kadriorg Palace, walked around it a bit and also went in. We saw beautiful paintings (like Lissom Lassies at the Lakeside, Burning of Troy, Spring by Akseli Gallen-Kallela etc.), sculptures and Emili told us about the history of the place. The next destination was the Office of the President of the Republic of Estonia. Then we took a taxi and went to the Old Town and while we were walking around, we saw some really cool places: The Parliament, the Tallinn Town Hall, the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Estonian Academy of Sciences and many more. We had lunch in the Baltic Station Market and from there, we walked back to the Old Town and just visited some souvenir shops. When the sun began to set, we walked to a lookout point, but sadly it was really cloudy, so we couldn't take any good pictures of the sunset over the city. We continued our journey along the Gulf of Finland and checked out the outside of the Shipmuseum and also the Iglupark. It started to get dark, so we decided to head back to the bus station and go back to Tartu.
