The last day

The Last Day and the Journey Home. After an unforgettable week together, Friday finally arrived—the last day of our exchange. It was a day filled with mixed emotions. On one hand, we were excited about everything we had experienced during the week, but on the other hand, we were sad that it was coming to an end. Late that night, right at midnight, we gathered together to celebrate Keve's birthday. Even though we were all a little tired after such a busy week, everyone was happy to stay up and share that special moment. It was a nice way to end our time together—laughing, talking, and celebrating as a group one last time. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, and it felt like we had truly become a small community during the week. Once we got back to our host families' houses, we packed our suitcases and made sure everything was ready for the trip home. The next morning came quickly. Even though we were still sleepy, we got up early to get ready. One of the most emotional parts of the day was saying goodbye to our host parents and the students who had welcomed us into their homes and lives for the past week. During the exchange we had shared many experiences together—school activities, trips, meals, and conversations—so the goodbyes were not easy. After saying our goodbyes, we headed to the meeting point where everyone gathered for the departure. From there, we took a bus together to the airport. When we arrived at the airport, we had about an hour of free time before our flight. We used this time to have breakfast and relax a little. Sitting there together, we started talking about the week we had just spent. We remembered the funniest moments, the new friendships we had made, and the experiences we would probably never forget. At the airport we said our final goodbyes to each other. Even though the week had ended, the memories we made during that time will stay with us for a long time. It was a week full of learning, new friendships, and unforgettable moments—an experience that we will always remember.
