On Tuesday the whole Erasmus group along with
the exchange partners went to Córdoba. Everyone met at the school's entrance
and from there we went to Córdoba by bus. The ride was about two hours long.
When we got to the city we walked around the beautiful Mosque and then the
teachers let us have some free time. We went to a café and then wandered around
town. After, we went to the Mosque which is the Cathedral of Córdoba and it's
the most famous of the Arabic-style mosques in Europe. It was constructed in
the 8th century by the founder of the Islamic Emirate of Córdoba. The building
was later expanded and now it's immense and richly-ornamented. After the excursion
to Córdoba we went to have lunch to a restaurant where we had gone by bus.
Later we all went back to Málaga.
After an incredible day in Córdoba, my
host family planned to visit the center of Málaga. Since I have never been to
the city I couldn't wait to see the famous Cathedral and the Castle of
Gibralfarao. Of course, besides other glorious monuments that the city has to
offer.
We started our tour in the Larios Street,
which is a fashion street with a lot of expensive stores. From here, we walked
all the way to the Cathedral. It wasn't a disappointment at all but
unfortunately it was being renovated at the time. To my surprise, in front of
the Cathedral there were some Spanish women who were dancing some traditional
Spanish dances. On the other side of the Cathedral there is the Castle of
Gibralfarao with an amazing view over the city if you are willing to walk to
its top. After getting a spectecular overlook of Málaga, we went to see the
Roman Theatre, which also lived up to the expectations.
Thanks to my kind-hearted host family, I
got an outstanding view of the city center of Málaga. All these old monuments
have really stood out from the newly built houses. I'm positive that I won't
forget this afternoon my whole life.
